Thanksgiving 2007

The long holiday weekend has come and gone, and all in all, I would say that we had a great Thanksgiving. We spent Thursday with Grandma and Grandpa B and had a great time. Joshua got to play with his cousin Stevin and "Mazzy Puppy", and he always loves seeing his grandparents. We minimally participated in Black Friday, hitting Ritz Camera to buy a new digital camera, which came with a free Canon photo printer and a surprisingly well made fleece jacket. Friday also began the unleashing of Brenda's inner Betty Crocker. The menu included an herb-roasted turkey, apple & sausage stuffing (made with homemade croutons), fruited sweet potatoes (with pineapple, coconut, golden raisins and a streusel topping), and home made mashed potatoes (Joshua helped!). She also made jalapeno cheddar cornbread muffins and a pecan pie. All of this was made from scratch and was super-delicious! Brenda's parents and Lori, Jacob and Grace came over to share the day and the meal with us, and we all had a great time. Granddad, Jacob, Joshua and Daddy all played at the park for a bit, came back for the food, then celebrated Granddad's 60th birthday that evening. In a nutshell (which was probably leftover from all the cooking), this weekend was about family, for which we are very thankful. Our entire family has so much to be thankful for this year, and we thank God for all he has blessed us with this year, and in the years to come. Enjoy the slideshow from Friday's festivities!
